Trinity Students
Invested in Your Calling

Every admitted Trinity student receives full tuition support and personalized financial guidance.

Financial Aid & Cost of Attendance

At Trinity Lutheran Seminary, affordability is built in. All admitted students receive full tuition scholarships across every program.

Students considering federal loans should contact their financial aid counselor for guidance. Federal loan options are available only after completing the FAFSA; remember to include Capital University’s school code 003023.

Award Information

Trinity students are awarded financial aid after charges are posted to the student account each academic term. Upon posting charges, financial aid is awarded in an amount sufficient to cover tuition costs only; responsibility for term fees remains with the student. Federal loans are not awarded until after the term freeze date.

Satisfactory Academic Progress Information

Capital University maintains academic standards that students must meet to remain eligible for federal and institutional financial aid. In accordance with federal regulations, the University establishes and monitors Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards to ensure eligibility for federal aid programs and lending. A minimum GPA is also required for institutional aid, when applicable. SAP is evaluated at the end of each semester based on the following criteria:

Cumulative GPA

Students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. Students may not earn more than one Fail or Marginal grade in successive terms.

Pace of Progression

Students must successfully complete at least 67% of all attempted credit hours. Pace is calculated by dividing cumulative earned hours by cumulative attempted hours. Attempted hours include grades of F, W, I, and NP; these grades do not count as earned hours. Transfer credit is included in both attempted and earned hours.
